Open House

On Feb. 3, 2010, Treehouse Preschool will open its doors to preschool families from 6 to 7 p.m. for open house and registration for 2- (Me and My Parent), 3-, 4- and 5-year-olds. Classes are offered September through May for half a day on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The "Me and my Parent" class for 2-year-olds is offered either Tuesday or Wednesday mornings.

Philosophy
Treehouse Preschool offers an age appropriate program for creative, emotional, social, cognitive and physical development for the preschool children. The program is planned to meet the needs and abilities of the individual child. Classroom curriculum offers opportunities for children to develop through visual, auditory, motor and communication skills by sharing experiences with formal and informal conversation or discussion. The daily activities help the children learn how to share ideas, thoughts, and materials as well as learn self-discipline and personal responsibilities. Treehouse Preschool seeks to stimulate creative and cognitive development through everyday exposure to a wide variety of art and play materials.

General Information
Treehouse Preschool is licensed by the State of Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. The facility and teachers are inspected by the state of Ohio yearly to keep a current license. In our 3 and 4 year old classrooms, we have a teacher to student ratio of 1 to 7, with a maximum of 14 students. While in the 5 year old class we have a ration of 1 to 8, with a maximum of 16 students. The preschool is staffed by experienced and qualified teachers who are dedicated to the total growth of each individual child.

Treehouse Preschool offers Three, Four and Five Year Old Classes in the morning and afternoon on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The morning classes meet from 9:15-11:30 AM and the afternoon classes from 12:45-3:00 PM. We also offer a Me and My Parent class for our 2 year olds. They do not have to be potty trained, but an adult must attend the class with each child. Classes begin in September and run through the middle of May. The preschool follows the same vacation schedule as the Tallmadge City Schools.

We are run by a Board composed of preschoolers' parents, a church liaison, the teachers and an administrator. The administrator, Wendy Brown, also works on the church staff as Sunday School Director. She serves as coordinator between the church staff, preschool board and teachers.
